Residents around the Southern Tier went to the polls on May 19 to vote on local school district budgets and for school board candidates for the 2026-27 academic year.
While Whitney Point schools proposed a minimal budget decrease, all other school districts proposed an increase in spending to fund priorities including capital projects, additional buses, programs and educational support as part of their proposed budgets.
