Two men were killed in an apparent homicide-suicide at a home in Addison, Steuben County, on Friday morning, according to New York State Police.
Troopers were called to a residence on Academy Street in the Village of Addison around 7 a.m. Friday, after it was reported that a shooting took place at the home following a “domestic-related incident,” troopers said.
According to a preliminary investigation, troopers said that it appeared that a 45-year-old man arrived at the residence and argued with a 43-year-old woman and her partner, a 41-year-old man.
The elder man allegedly left the home and returned “a short time later,” when he is then accused of fatally shooting the 41-year-old man, according to State Police. He fled the scene in a vehicle, which later crashed near Wall Street, before he is believed to have shot and killed himself.
According to State Police, the elder man’s body was found in a nearby wooded area
The woman was not physically injured, troopers said.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and Addison Police Department assisted at the scene.
Troopers continue to investigate the shooting. No additional suspects are being sought. Autopsies will be conducted on the two men.
