An Urbandale teen was arrested in connection with a shots-fired incident that occurred during the city’s 2026 Fourth of July celebration.
An 18-year-old was arrested on Tuesday, July 21, and charged with reckless use of a firearm, a simple misdemeanor, and intimidation with a dangerous weapon with intent to injure or provoke fear, a class C felony, according to a news release from Urbandale police spokesperson Capt. Dan Stein.
The teen was arrested for shots fired that occurred during Urbandale’s Fourth of July Celebration at Lion’s Park around 10:22 p.m.
No one was injured in the incident, according to police. The investigation is ongoing.
The teen is in the custody of the Polk County Jail.
