Iowa State football opens its season with a Week 0 game against Kansas State on Saturday, Aug. 23, and the Cyclones revealed on Tuesday which uniform they will wear for the historic matchup in Dublin, Ireland.
The program unveiled new uniform sets entering the 2024 season, as well as new helmets for this fall. Head coach Matt Campbell’s group will don the new headgear, featuring a gold and white version of the script “Cyclones” logo on a cardinal red helmet, to pair with a white jersey and cardinal pants.
The team will also sport an Irish twist to the uniform on the helmet’s front bumper. The program’s standard pentagonal vertical stripes honoring Jack Trice are housed in the middle of the bumper against a white background. That logo is flanked by green and orange, representing the flag of Ireland. The team will also wear hand towels with the script ‘Cyclones’ written in a similar green, white and orange font.
The Cyclones finished with a program-best 11-3 record last season and enter the 2025 campaign tied for the No. 21 ranking in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll.
The Wildcats, who finished 9-4 in 2024, are slotted just in front of the Cyclones at No. 20, making Saturday’s Aer Lingus College Football Classic a top-25 matchup.
