Despite its lopsided loss to UCLA in the Big Ten Tournament title game, the 2-1 showing in Indianapolis has moved Iowa women’s basketball up two spots to No. 7 in the latest Associated Press poll released March 9.
The Hawkeyes (26-6) beat Illinois in the quarterfinals and No. 9 Michigan in the semifinals before taking a 96-45 loss to No. 2 UCLA in the title game. The Bruins received three-first place votes alongside UConn’s 28.

Iowa will now wait for Selection Sunday to learn its NCAA Tournament path.
