Iowa wrestling continues to make adds to its 2026 recruiting class, this time staying in state to earn a commitment.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont’s Landen Davis announced his commitment to the Hawkeyes on May 6. Davis is coming off of winning a state title at 144 pounds with the Rockets as a senior, putting up a 41-0 record. Davis was a state runner-up as a junior and took third as a sophomore.
“I am excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at the University of Iowa,” Davis wrote in an Instagram post. “I wanna thank my family and teammates I couldn’t do this without them.”
Davis is the fifth commit for the 2026 class, following Greyson Pettit David Calkins, Bobby Duffy and Michael Mocco. Davis is the lone Iowa native of the five.
The addition also gives Iowa seven total new faces as of May 6, counting the transfer portal. Lehigh’s Ryan Crookham and Oklahoma’s Carter Schubert are both committed to the Hawkeyes, while Jordan Williams, Kale Petersen and Dru Ayala have all announced or have been confirmed by an Iowa spokesperson to have entered the transfer portal from last season’s roster.
