Iowa women's basketball legend releases first children's book

While still on the active roster of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, Iowa women’s basketball legend Megan Gustafson will proudly add “children’s author” to her resume as she released her first book on Wednesday.

Gustafson’s book, titled “Pancake’s Passport,” was inspired by her overseas travels with her pet corgi named Pancake as she explores themes of faith, purpose, and friendship throughout the world alongside the lovable four-legged companion.

In a post on X on Tuesday, Gustafson and Pancake sincerely thanked all their supporters and expressed how excited they are for the book to finally be released on Wednesday after months of hard work.

One of the most unique components of Gustafson’s first piece of literature is that the former Hawkeye elected not to partner with a traditional publisher, but rather to create her own publishing company, The Inspired Bookshelf.

By creating her own company and promoting her own book, Gustafson is able to utilize the marketing skills obtained from her bachelor’s degree in marketing earned from the University of Iowa in 2019, and her recently completed MBA from Iowa’s Tippie College of Business.

The 128-page “Pancake’s Passport” is available on Amazon in paperback, hardcover, and Kindle formats, with more news regarding her celebration of its release expected throughout the day.
