FRISCO, Texas — As Big 12 Football Media Days kick off in Texas, the conversation surrounding the 2026 season is ramping up.
The 2026 preseason All-Big 12 team and individual awards were announced Monday, July 6. The Big 12 Conference will not be releasing any preseason rankings or predicted order of finish.
Despite 2025 All-Big 12 second-team returner Aiden Flora and honorable mention kicker Kyle Konrardy back for the new-look Iowa State football team, the Cyclones didn’t have any representatives on this year’s preseason all-conference team.
Iowa State finished 8-4 last season and underwent a massive roster overhaul and a head coaching change. Jimmy Rogers succeeded Matt Campbell as head coach, and the Cyclones welcomed more than 60 new players.

Preseason Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year: A.J. Holmes, Sr., DL, Texas Tech
