Iowa football announces date, time for Kid's Day open practice

One tradition that the Iowa Hawkeyes do each fall during training camp is the annual Kid’s Day practice inside Kinnick Stadium.

The open practice allows children a chance to get a front row seat to their idols wearing the black and gold. The practice also allows many fans the opportunity to get back inside Kinnick Stadium to scratch their football itch as the season rapidly approaches.

The 2025 Kid’s Day open practice inside Kinnick Stadium has been set for Saturday, August 11, at 11 a.m. CT, with the doors opening at 10 a.m. so fans can snag a seat right near the action.

While Iowa usually runs a rather vanilla offense and treats this day as a bit of a glorified walk-through, it will allow fans their first look at new quarterback Mark Gronowski, who was not in action during the open practice in the spring.

The practice is always a pivotal point in camp, as Iowa usually turns the page after this practice from training camp to game prep for Week 1.

The Hawkeyes open up the 2025 schedule inside Kinnick Stadium against UAlbany on Saturday, August 30th, at 5 p.m. CT.
