The 2026 Iowa high school boys tennis season ended with exciting Class 2A and 1A state tournaments in Iowa City and Waterloo.
The Des Moines Register is pleased to announce the 2026 All-Iowa boys tennis honorees.
The list includes a six-person Elite Team, consisting of Iowa’s best tennis players regardless of class, based on results from this year’s state tournaments. There are also six first-team selections for each class in the state.
Here’s who made the All-Iowa boys tennis team.
Players are listed in alphabetical order by last name.
Garrett Bauermeister, Sr., Linn-Mar
Bauermeister was an individual semifinalist in the Class 2A state singles tournament at the 2026 IHSAA boys state singles and doubles tennis tournament held May 27-28 at Iowa City.
Bauermeister went 2-1 at state and he was 10-4 in No. 1 singles matches during the season.
William Feagler, Soph., Iowa City High
Feagler was crowned the 2A state singles champion at the IHSAA state singles and doubles tournament in Iowa City on May 27-28.
Feagler went 10-1 in singles matches on the year. He defeated Indianola’s Bryson Rehmeier (6-0, 6-0), Iowa City West’s Prabhas Gupta (6-3, 6-0) and Waukee Northwest’s Marteen Beekhuis (6-1, 2-1) to reach the finals, where he won a three-set classic over Prairie’s Dylan Schulte — 3-6, 6-4, 1-0 (11-9).
Connor Feehan, Fr., Assumption
Feehan won the 1A boys state tennis singles championship on May 27-28 at Waterloo.
Feehan downed North Polk’s Easton Moon in the finals (6-0, 6-1) after scoring a pair of 6-0, 6-0 shutouts in the Round of 16 and quarterfinals and a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sergeant Bluff-Luton’s Tyler Grote in the semifinals.
Tyler Grote, Sr., Sergeant Bluff-Luton
Grote advanced to the semifinals of the 1A boys state tennis singles tournament on May 27-28 in Waterloo.
Grote downed Denison Community’s Owen Galvin (6-0, 6-0) and Xavier’s Bennett Link (6-2, 6-4) to reach the semifinals, where he fell to eventual champion Connor Feehan of Assumption.
Easton Moon, Sr., North Polk
Moon was the state runner-up in 1A.
Moon defeated Knoxville’s Josh Toledo and and Shenandoah’s Luke Daoust by 6-0, 6-0 scores in his first two matches at state. He took down Wahlert Catholic’s Cal Martineau in the semifinals with a pair of 6-2 victories before coming up short against Feehan in the finals.
Dylan Schulte, Soph., Prairie
Schulte was the singles runner-up at the 2026 IHSAA 2A boys state singles and doubles tournament May 27-28 in Iowa City.
Schulte blanked Des Moines Roosevelt’s Vihaan Koganti (6-0, 6-0), won a 6-4, 6-3 battle with Waukee Northwest’s Vincent Flynn and earned a 6-4, 6-2 win over Linn-Mar’s Garrett Bauermeister to reach the finals. In the championship match Schulte fell to Iowa City High’s William Feagler in a three-set classic.
