Where is the new Lady Lake Aldi located?
An Aldi has replaced the Winn-Dixie at La Grande Plaza in Lady Lake, 944 Bichara Blvd.
How big is the store?
Like all locations, the Lady Lake store is approximately 12,000 square feet of retail space.
When did the store open?
The La Grande Plaza Aldi hosted a grand opening event featuring a ribbon-cutting ceremony on June 11.
At the event, the first 200 customers received a gift bag filled with a sampling of ALDI products and a gift card as part of the ALDI Golden Ticket giveaway program.
What can you expect to buy there?
In case you’re new to the grocery chain, nearly 90% of the items on Aldi shelves are “exclusive” brands, and store reps claim that one-in-three of those products are award-winning.
Shoppers can find more affordable options for organic meats, fresh produce, sustainable seafood, imported-style cheeses and wine selections.
“By offering a carefully selected range of products, Aldi sells exactly what shoppers need at the best prices in the market,” they say.
A rotating selection of goods at the store ranges from unique foods and lifestyle goods to home decor and pet accessories.
“We were proud to celebrate the opening of our Lady Lake store and are excited to serve the community with the quality products, award-winning Aldi-exclusive brands and everyday low prices shoppers know and love,” said Matt Thon, the grocery chain’s regional vice president.
What are its hours?
Open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. Aldi stores are closed on New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, and operate with limited hours on other major holidays like Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Why is the store named Aldi?
The name is actually a syllabic abbreviation that stands for the German name Albrecht Diskont, which translates to “Albrecht Discount” in English.
The Albrecht brothers took over their mother’s small grocery store in Essen, Germany, in 1946.
As they expanded and developed their no-frills, low-price business model, they officially introduced the ALDI name in 1962 to reflect their brand’s primary focus.
How many Aldi stores are in the U.S.?
As of mid-2026, there are around 2,688 locations currently operating across the United States.
When is the new Eustis Aldi opening?
A new store is opening in Eustis, also replacing a Winn-Dixie, at 1955 State Road 19, just south of Umatilla.
When is it opening? “At this time, we can share that we are tracking to open this store by this fall, though we do not have a concrete date to share just yet,” a representative told the Daily Commercial.
