After dropping a heartbreaking 83-75 loss against the New York Liberty on Saturday night, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever (5-5) look to salvage a split of their two-game East Coast road trip tonight from the nation’s capital in a clash against the Washington Mystics (4-5) at CareFirst Arena
In Saturday’s game, Clark scored 10 points and added nine assists, seven rebounds, and one block, but shot just 4-of-14 from the floor and was limited in her game late after she picked her fifth foul late in the fourth quarter. While Clark’s scoring numbers have been down over the past four games, the former Hawkeye is still finding ways to contribute elsewhere on the box score by registering an average of 8.2 assists, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.0 steal per game.
As for Washington, the Mystics have gone 3-3 since they last faced Indiana on May 15 and are coming off a 109-77 landslide loss to the Atlanta Dream on Saturday, during which head coach Sydney Johnson was ejected in the third quarter for aggressively arguing a call with the officials. Offensively, the Mystics are led by the trio of Sofia Citron (17.8 ppg), Shakira Austin (16.0 ppg), and Kiki Iriafen (16.0 ppg).
