The reinforcements continue to come for the Indiana Fever.
Just days after signing Odyssey Sims to a hardship contract, the Fever have signed another guard to the roster in Kyra Lambert. With Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson out for the season and Caitlin Clark still without a timetable to return from her groin injury, the Fever desperately need guards to come in and handle the ball. And Lambert can do just that.
Lambert played three years at Duke before transferring to Texas for her senior season in 2020. Across her collegiate career, she played in 124 games, averaging 6.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. She shot 39.3% from the field and 35.1% from three during her time in college.
Following her time in college, Lambert has played her entire professional career in Europe and has played extremely well.
Lambert has spent the entirety of her professional career playing in Europe, most recently with Olympiacos where she won the Greek A1 League. During that season, Lambert averaged 15.4 points per game, while shooting 42.1 percent from beyond the arc, to go along with 6.3 assists. She was went on to be named Eurocup’s Guard of the Year. -Indiana Fever press release about Lambert.
Lambert will wear No. 15 for the Fever and will have a big chance to shine and play serious minutes with Clark still out. The Fever have had a lot of success this season finding diamonds in the rough like McDonald and Chloe Bibby, and will hope for Lambert to be another success story.
