Following an 2-3 record over the past five games without Caitlin Clark, the Indiana Fever (4-5) star guard will make her return to action today vs. the New York Liberty (9-0) in WNBA Commissioner’s Cup action from Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Without Clark, the Fever offensive efficiency has taken a dip with the team scoring just 77.6 points per game despite valiant efforts by guard Kelsey Mitchell, and forwards Aaliyah Boston and Natasha Howard. As Clark makes her return to the court, the Fever hope her scoring touch can spur the team to an upset win over the undefeated Liberty and regain momentum moving forward.
Clark’s return ironically will come against the same Liberty squad she played on May 24, when the former Hawkeye strained her left quadriceps muscle.
