The Des Moines International Airport recorded 0.34 inches of rain from 8 a.m. Monday, June 2, to 8 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, according to the Iowa State University Mesonet. Central Iowa was expected to experience less severe weather than the eastern part of the state.
Des Moines saw a few sporadic showers throughout the first few days of June, with the majority of the rainfall on June 3, when Des Moines got 0.24 inches of rain.
To the north, Ankeny reported 0.32 inches of rain and Ames reported 0.58 inches.

The weather in Des Moines is supposed to clear up until Thursday, June 5, when there is a slight chance for showers in the evening. New rain could amount to less than a tenth of an inch, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday also has a 30% chance of showers during the day.
