Following Saturday’s smothering defensive effort in a 79-52 blowout win against the Chicago Sky from the United Center in Chicago, Ill., the Indiana Fever (4-4) return to action tonight as they travel to the Gateway Center in College Park, Ga., for a WNBA Commissioner’s Cup matchup vs. the Atlanta Dream (5-3).
While the Fever were shorthanded on Saturday without the abilities of injured guards Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham and head coach Stephanie White’s absence (personal reasons), Indiana stifled the Chicago offense by limiting the Sky to just 18-for-56 from the floor and 3-for-15 from 3-point territory.
While there was some hope that Clark could return to action for tonight’s game against the Dream, given her promising improvements in recent limited practices, head coach Stephanie White says the former Hawkeye will still remain sidelined alongside guard Sophie Cunningham.

The decision to keep both guards out of Tuesday’s action was made a bit easier, considering the Fever’s next game is not until Saturday, June 14, when they welcome the New York Liberty to Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Tonight’s game is the third of four meetings between the Fever and Dream this season. The two split the first two contests on May 20 and May 22.
