The NFL Scouting Combine is an opportunity for some of the best college football players in the country to raise their draft stock.
A great performance at the combine can get a player drafted a round or two earlier than they might’ve have been before, leading to more money when they sign and potentially a better chance to get snaps right away. This year’s combine saw numerous former Iowa football players make a name for themselves and put their best foot forward in front of the NFL world. But one former Hawkeye, in particular, was one of the biggest winners of the combine.
Logan Jones had an excellent career at Iowa, winning the Rimington Trophy in 2025 and helping the Hawkeyes win the Joe Moore Award for the first time in almost a decade. He got to add another accolade to his resume on Tuesday, when he was named a member of the All-Combine Team by the NFL.
Jones had a stellar performance at this year’s combine. He ran a 4.9-second 40-yard dash, the fastest of any offensive lineman at the combine. He completed the three-cone drill in 7.46 seconds, the second-fastest among all offensive linemen. His 20-yard shuttle time was 4.59 seconds, the second-fastest among his offensive line peers. He was the only offensive lineman at this year’s combine to finish in the top-two of three separate drills.
That performance landed him as the sole center on the All-Combine team. Jones is a high riser among NFL draft circles, looking like a day two pick at the moment. After what he did at the combine, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Jones go in the second round of the draft and solidify himself as some lucky team’s starting center for the next decade.
Jones certainly took advantage of the opportunity that the combine brings to prospective professionals. Iowa fans won’t have to wait too long to hear his name called on draft weekend.
