The Field of Dreams Movie Site in Dyersville will open its new professional ballpark June 17-26 with the “If You Build It” high school series, a six-date event featuring eastern Iowa baseball teams.
All six high schools from Dubuque County will participate.
“This series is about giving high school players the opportunity to compete on a field that represents everything great about the game,” Tyler Daugherty, general manager of Field of Dreams Ballpark, said in a news release. “We’re proud to open our new ballpark by celebrating community, competition, and the future of baseball right here at the Field of Dreams.”
Here is the series schedule (Dubuque County teams in bold):
Tickets for the series will be available Monday, April 27 and can be purchased at www.fieldofdreamsmoviesite.com/high-school-game-series.
The Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies will play a Major League Baseball game at the new ballpark on Thursday, August 13. This will be the third MLB contest played at the Field of Dreams site, after the 2021 and 2022 games.
