The Indiana Fever announced that Caitlin Clark is likely to play in the team’s game against the Golden State Valkyries on Friday, May 22.
Clark missed her first game of the season — the Fever’s 90–73 win on Wednesday, May 20 — because of a back injury. She has appeared in just 13 games in 2025, sidelined by a series of injuries, including to her left quad, left groin, right groin and ankle.
The former Iowa women’s basketball player was averaging a career-high 24.3 points and 9 assists across the first four games of the season. The Fever (3-2) have won two straight games at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
An injury report posted on May 21 listed Clark as probable.
Fever head coach Stephanie White said Clark did not practice on Tuesday prior to the Portland game. After the game she described Clark’s back as “sore” and said further details would have to come from the training staff.
