After leading by as many as 17, the Indiana Fever suddenly found themselves trailing the Washington Mystics by one with 4.3 seconds remaining.
An inbounds pass from Sophie Cunningham found its way into Clark’s hands just before Washington’s Cotie McMahon could get her fingertips on it. As McMahon went flying past, Clark launched a deep 3-pointer that was nothing but net to give Indiana a 78-76 win over the Washington Mystics on Monday night.
With the win, the Fever move back above .500, improving to 6-5 on the season. Naturally, social media was abuzz after Clark’s game-winner.
