B2wins are leaving Iowa to return to Brazil. You've got one last chance to see them play.

Wagner and Walter Caldas, the twin violinists known as the B2wins, are leaving Iowa. After 20 years of performing in the Hawkeye state, the brothers are moving back to their home of Brazil.

They’ll have one last show at Jasper Winery before saying goodbye.

Here’s what to know about the B2wins and how you can attend the duo’s last Iowa concert.

Who are the B2wins?

Wagner and Walter Caldas grew up in dangerous Rio de Janeiro neighborhoods, according to their website, where they began performing in the streets at the age of 13.

“Twenty years ago, we got the opportunity to come to Iowa to play two songs for the World Food Prize […] No English, nothing,” the brothers said in an Instagram video about their time in Iowa.

After seeing the performance, former University of Northern Iowa president Ben Allen offered the brothers full-ride music scholarships to the university, where they learned English and started the band B2wins.

Since college, the two have lived in Des Moines and traveled for performances all around the country.

Why are the B2wins leaving Iowa?

In their Instagram video, the brothers jokingly said they’re leaving Iowa because of the current political climate. Later, they said they wished to be with family who are aging and loved ones they have missed. They’re also excited to perform in their home country.

When is the B2wins last performance in Iowa?

Bring blankets and lawn chairs for B2wins last performance in Iowa at Jasper Winery on Thursday, July 10 starting at 5 p.m. The performance is free part of the winery’s summer concert series.

There will be a meet and greet at 5 p.m. with an opener at 6 p.m. and a performance at 7 p.m.
