ADM looks to be in competition for another podium finish at the state meet now with the regular season behind everyone.

The Tigers are clocked as the third-best Class 3A team according to Bound’s power rankings, situated in competition with Pella and Clear Creek Amana as the odd-on favorites as the top contenders.

With the regular season in the rearview, two weeks remain until the state qualifiers that ADM will be running in Glenwood on May 15.

As of the Tigers’ most recent performance, the team is projected as the top team at the state meet according to Bound’s class power rankings, primed to defend their 2024 state title. With a power index rating of 1858, they hold a sizeable lead over Pella at 1763 and North Polk at 1708. However, Pella did come out on top in Bondurant at the April 21 meet, with ADM in second and North Polk in third.

With just over a week left in the regular season, the Tigers are riding a wave of momentum with six wins in a row now after taking down Winterset and Bondurant-Farrar in the past week.

However, even with the two conference wins, the Raccoon River crown is mathematically out of reach with an undefeated Gilbert team clinching the championship with a win over North Polk. ADM is the last team to score against them, dated six games ago.

ADM was able to extend its win streak to four games after a 4-0 win over Winterset to open the new month, but the following day on Friday, a 2-1 loss to Des Moines Roosevelt reset that clock.

With that loss coming out of the Raccoon River, the Tigers’ dreams of a conference title are still alive, with three more league games to come in the final two weeks of the season. But it will likely require wins in all three matchups, along with two losses from an undefeated North Polk.

After two weeks of postponements, the Tigers were back in action, winning their two most recent outings within the Raccoon River Conference. With previous wins over Carlisle and Gilbert, ADM has yet to be bested by a league opponent.

Carter Madison won both events for the week, bringing his top score down to 34 on nine holes while facing Boone and Winterset. Last year’s state championship team only went as low as a score of 35.

The Tigers took on Bondurant and Carroll in a make-up meet on Monday, and shot a season second-best 200 on the day en route to a win over two conference rivals after earning the four best individual scores of the day. Hattie Lande’s 47 led the way while Anna Holloway’s 50 was her new personal record on nine holes.
