INDIANAPOLIS — Nearly every player is accounted for at Indiana Fever training camp this week, except one.
The Fever are only missing Brazil native Damiris Dantas, who is waiting on her visa before she can enter the country to attend training camp.
Fever coach Stephanie White said Tuesday that Dantas’ arrival is “potentially Thursday,” but she’s not entirely sure. The situation is out of their hands, as they’re waiting on approval from the U.S. government.
Dantas re-signed with the Fever on a two-year, $300,000 veteran minimum contract on April 12. Her attendance at Fever training camp has been limited in the three years she’s been part of the Indiana roster.

She did not attend training camp in 2024 as she was recovering from a knee injury suffered while playing overseas — her contract was suspended to begin the season, and she joined the team in June of that season after she recovered. She also missed a portion of training camp in 2025 because of a death in the family.
As an 11-year veteran starting her third year with the Fever, however, Dantas will not need much time to get up to speed. Dantas’ 3-point numbers dipped in 2025, but she is a career 33% 3-point shooter who can stretch the floor and keep the post locked down when needed. She averaged 4.6 points and 2.4 rebounds per game in 38 appearances in 2025.
She will likely back up starter Aliyah Boston, as she has for the last couple years.
