INDIANAPOLIS — Caitlin Clark picked up her sixth technical foul of the season on Saturday night, putting her two away from a potential one-game suspension.
The referees called the technical just 90 seconds into the Fever’s game against the New York Liberty after Clark ran into a screen from Jonquel Jones. Clark wanted a call after falling to the ground, giving the official some choice words, and she was quickly called for a tech.
Clark will be fined $1,000 from the league for the tech, and it puts her at risk of a one-game suspension if she gets two more in the final 18 games of the regular season. This was, however, her first technical foul in nearly a month — the last one she picked up was on June 22 against Phoenix.
Clark is now tied for second in the league in technicals this season; Phoenix’s Kahleah Copper also has six, and Atlanta’s Angel Reese leads the WNBA with seven.
