Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? Do you enjoy helping others and making a difference in their lives? If so, you might be interested in becoming an Errands Volunteer for Area 10 Agency on Aging, a nonprofit organization that provides services and support for older adults and individuals with disabilities in Monroe and Owen counties. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to run errands and grocery shop for individuals who are unable to do so themselves. This is a vital service that helps them maintain their independence and well-being. The schedule is flexible and on an as-needed basis. You can choose when and how often you want to volunteer, depending on your availability and the needs of the individuals.

Weed Wrangle volunteers

Join Sierra Club Hoosier Chapter, MC-IRIS, and Hoosier National Forest as a Weed Wrangle volunteer and help them control Japanese stiltgrass at Pate Hollow or Hayes Trail in the Hoosier National Forest. The first two dates will be initial 6-mile assessment hikes to identify the Japanese stiltgrass and to plan future weed wrangles there. It is tick season, so be prepared with long pants and a long-sleeved shirt, a hat, and closed-toe shoes. Bug spray is a good idea. Bring drinking water and snacks. Moderate level hike.
