Former Notre Dame football offensive guard Billy Schrauth is officially an NFL rookie after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers selected him in the 5th round (160th overall) of the 2026 NFL Draft.

A certified mauler who played both right and left guard during his three-year career, Billy Schrauth made 22 starts in between injury setbacks along the way. A sprained left MCL ended his 2025 season in Week 7 against USC. The former four-star recruit from a dairy farm in Wisconsin also missed four games in 2024 after suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 3 at Purdue.

Officially measured at 6-foot-4 and 310 pounds, Schrauth underwent foot surgery as a midyear enrollee in 2022 but worked his way back and was voted a co-captain for a team coming off an appearance in the College Football Playoff title game. Schrauth’s finest game might have been his last at the college level as he dominated the USC front while playing through a sprained MCL suffered in the early going.

In 720 career pass sets, Schrauth allowed just three sacks and 12 total pressures, according to Pro Football Focus. He allowed just one sack over his final two seasons, with that coming in the 2024 regular-season finale at USC.
