With the Indianapolis Colts’ 2026 roster now largely set following the NFL draft, where does this team now land in the latest power rankings?
The general consensus, from both draft analysts and a few NFL execs, is that the Colts did quite well for themselves in the draft.
In addition to those eight draft picks, the Colts were also very active during the free agency period, leading to a lot of turnover this offseason.
In total, Ballard would make 10 outside free agent signings, while also acquiring Colby Wooden in a trade. Several of the Colts’ own free agents signed elsewhere, while Zaire Franklin and Michael Pittman were traded away.
The Colts decision to re-sign Daniel Jones — as well as Alec Pierce — is rooted in the belief that the success he had through 10 games last season can be replicated and sustained in 2026. However, this is far from a run-it-back approach, with a number of new faces on the roster.
But the big question is, will all this change yield the results that the Colts are looking for? That remains to be seen.

Eric Edholm: “For not having a first-round pick, the Colts did a darned-good job identifying value selections at positions of greater need, coming out of the weekend with a really nice crop. Everything rides on Daniel Jones’ recovery, but I am willing to see where he’s at come training camp. Can’t give up on Indiana Jones or the Colts yet.”

Pete Prisco: “This is a pivotal year for the coaching staff and front office. They haven’t won the division since Andrew Luck retired. It’s time — or heads might roll.”

Ralph Vacchiano: “No first-round pick, but they got two defensive starters in LB C.J. Allen and safety A.J. Haulcy on Day 2. Both should be solid players, but might not have a huge impact. The Colts could’ve really used a receiver to replace Michael Pittman, whom they traded away.”

Brent Sobleski: “As long as Jones’ recovery from last year’s Achilles tear doesn’t take longer than expected, Indianapolis can be closer to the team that began the 2025 campaign than the version that finished it.”

PFN: “Despite not having a first-round pick, the Colts added two potential starters on defense in CJ Allen and A.J. Haulcy. They also added one of the best steals of the draft by selecting star Oklahoma wide receiver Deion Burks with the No. 254 overall selection.”
