Former Wisconsin basketball player Breauna Ware signs with ACC program

MADISON – Breauna Ware will play her final season of college basketball in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The 5-foot-7 guard from Queens, New York, signed with Wake Forest, the school announced Friday, May 1.

Ware averaged 5.4 points and 1.7 rebounds per game in her only season at Wisconsin. She played in 25 games and made 13 starts but didn’t appear in six of the final seven games. She did not make the trip to Kansas City for the WBIT semifinals, an absence that coach Robin Pingeton said was not injury related.

Ware, who will be a redshirt senior next season, started her career at St. Bonaventure then spent two seasons, including a redshirt year, at Stony Brook before coming to Wisconsin.

She joins a program that went 14-18 last season with a 4-14 mark in the ACC.

Two other Badgers entered the transfer portal: sophomore forward Alie Bisbale and sophomore wing Jovana Spasovski.
