RICHMOND, IN — A Richmond woman who had earlier been linked to a fatal drug overdose has been sentenced to four years in prison for a dealing conviction.
A Wayne Circuit Court jury on Feb. 13 found 28-year-old Jasmin Breeze Cash not guilty of dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death, a Level 1 felony carrying up to 40 years in prison.
But the jury found Cash guilty of a lesser charge, dealing in a controlled substance, a Level 5 felony with a maximum six-year sentence.
Judge April Drake imposed the four-year sentence at a March 13 hearing.
Cash’s prosecution stemmed from the death in February 2025 of Cassidy Amber Mays, a 28-year-old Richmond woman. Investigators said her death was the result of a fentanyl overdose.
Cash received credit for 275 days already spent in the Wayne County Jail.
She is set to stand trial April 7, also in Circuit Court, on four charges filed against her in April 2025: kidnapping, kidnapping while armed with a deadly weapon, criminal confinement and battery with a deadly weapon.
In that case, Cash is accused of holding another local woman against her will at a home in the 200 block of South Seventh Street on Friday, April 11.
According to court records, Cash has also been convicted of possession of meth, visiting a common nuisance and leaving the scene of an accident.
