Meijer is close to opening its Fishers grocery-centric store.
The Meijer Grocery Store at 15700 Southeastern Parkway will open next month, the company told IndyStar.
The 75,000-square-foot shop, opening Sept. 30, will be the company’s second Indiana location for the company’s new grocery-focused concept. An adjacent Meijer Express fuel station will open on Sept 2.
Meijer Grocery began in 2023 with stores in Lake Orion and Macomb Township, Michigan.
A 90,000-square-foot Noblesville location opened at 5956 Promenade Shops Boulevard in July 2024.
What will Fishers Meijer Grocery store sell?
The Meijer Grocery concept falls in between the signature Meijer Supercenter, which carries clothing and household items and is typically about 160,000 square feet, and the small-format Meijer Market – about 40,000 square feet – that launched in 2018 to provide more produce-focused shopping.
Designed to accommodate quick grocery trips, the Meijer Grocery will have fresh produce, a meat selection, a deli, a bakery, a pharmacy, health and beauty care sections, baby and pet departments, a wine, beer and spirits section, a floral area and party supplies.
Meijer Grocery stores also offer mPerks, Shop and Scan, Meijer Home Delivery and Pickup.
The Fishers store, which faced opposition from nearby residents who assert it is too big for the neighborhood, will be about 20% smaller than the Noblesville Meijer Grocery.
Jobs at Meijer
The Fishers store is looking for workers to fill part-time and full-time positions, including produce, deli, bakery food clerks, express, retail clerks, overnight stocking clerks and cashiers.
