MUNCIE, IN — A Muncie man has been arrested on suspicion of dealing in heroin and robbery.
Nicholas David Dorroh, 37, was arrested on Saturday, May 2, after a traffic stop on the city’s south side.
According to an affidavit, Muncie police found a backpack containing 51.8 grams of heroin in Dorroh’s Toyota Corolla.
Another occupant of the vehicle said Dorroh had recently bought the heroin in Trotwood, Ohio, about 75 miles southeast of Muncie.
“I know that Trotwood, Ohio, is a major hub for the distribution of narcotics,” an officer wrote in an affidavit.
Police had been searching for Dorroh since April 12, when they were told the Muncie man had punched his girlfriend in the jaw and stole $80 from her.
The woman — who an officer reported had “noticeable redness, slight swelling and bruising” on her jaw — said she did not wish to file a domestic battery complaint against Dorroh.
Dorroh was being held in the Delaware County jail under $50,000 cash bond, on suspicion of dealing in cocaine or a narcotic drug, possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, robbery, domestic battery resulting in serious bodily injury and strangulation.
Delaware County Prosecutor Eric Hoffman’s office will determine whether formal charges are filed.
According to court records, Dorroh has been convicted of crimes including burglary, possession of cocaine, possession of a controlled substance, theft of a firearm, battery resulting in bodily injury, unlawful possession of a syringe, public intoxication and criminal mischief.
