Kroger, Fred Meyer chicken recalled over allergens

Public health officials are warning folks to look out for raw chicken sold at Kroger and Fred Meyer stores, including shops in Indiana.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health alert for raw boneless chicken breast products due to misbranding and undeclared allergens.

Produced by FW Farms out of Fort Worth, Texas, the items contain eggs, a known allergen, which is not declared on the product labels, the agency said in the June 25 notice.

Chicken products affected by the health alert

The raw honey Dijon boneless chicken breast products were produced on June 2, 2026.

The alert applies to 21-oz. vacuum-packed packages of “PRIVATE SELECTION Honey Dijon Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts with Rib Meat” with “BEST IF USED BY: JUN 28 2026” and lot code “15326A” printed on the packaging.

The products bear the establishment number “P-45288B” printed on the packaging.

What states was the chicken sold in?

The items were shipped to Kroger and Fred Meyer retail stores in the following states:

A recall was not issued because the product is no longer available for purchase, but FSIS is concerned that some might be in consumers’ refrigerators or freezers.

What should you do if you bought the chicken?

Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them, the agency said.

The products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.
