Monroe County NOW seeking board, committee members
Monroe County National Organization for Women (NOW) is dedicated to intersectional feminism, fighting for constitutional equality, reproductive rights, freedom from violence and social justice for all women. The organization is seeking board members to fill executive positions, including director of legislative action, director of fundraising, secretary and president.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) needed
Monroe County CASA is looking for additional volunteers to take on the role of Court Appointed Special Advocate, or “CASA,” to support abused and neglected children currently navigating the Monroe County court system. CASA advocates are community volunteers who are professionally trained to gather information about a child and his/her family, identify needs and possible services, and speak on behalf of the child in court. Responsibilities include meeting with the child monthly, communicating with case managers, parents, and foster parents, writing reports and attending court hearings.
