“Hurts So Good” became a rallying cry for Indiana football fans as the Hoosiers marched to an undefeated season and maybe the most unlikely national championship in the sport’s history.
Hoosier native John Mellencamp, whose name is on the team’s indoor practice facility, joined the team Saturday as it celebrated the title the title at Memorial Stadium.
Mellencamp led a version of the 1982 hit and invited the players to join in. Given that many players weren’t born until “Hurts So Good” was nearly 20 years old, they weren’t sure what to make of it.
But Omar Cooper Jr. and Elijah Sarratt had fun anyway.
