The 2025 IndyCar season is complete, and Alex Palou has won his fourth championship in five years. He won eight races, most notably the Indianapolis 500 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Pato O’Ward is the series runner-up.
Here’s where the drivers and teams finish in the season-long points, Rookie of the Year and Leaders Circle races.
IndyCar Series championship points 2025
IndyCar Series rookie points
Louis Foster edges Robert Shwartzman for Rookie of the Year by 2 points. Foster caused Malukas’ crash in the season finale and was given a drive-through penalty for blocking. He finished 20th, two laps down. Shwartzman was running 10th — in position to pass Foster for the rookie crown — until being penalized in the closing laps for blocking Santino Ferrucci. Shwartzman’s own drive-through penalty late in the race left him one lap down in 14th. A 12th-place finish for the Prema Racing driver would’ve sealed the rookie honors.
IndyCar Series Leaders Circle standings 2025
IndyCar’s Leaders Circle program pays eligible teams just over $1 million the following season in guarantees. To qualify for one of the 22 spots, the entry must be associated with one of IndyCar’s 25 charters — teams are allowed to have a maximum of three. Only Prema Racing’s two cars remain unchartered. The 25 chartered cars are then ranked by entrant points and the top 22 eligible entries will be paid $1.2 million or more by Penske Entertainment throughout the 2026 season.
Here’s who narrowly earned the bonus and who did not:
20. Andretti Global No. 28, 234 points
21. Arrow McLaren No. 6, 213 points
22. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing No. 45, 213 points
