That’s WNBA star power in action.
ESPN reported that the season opener Saturday afternoon, May 9, between the Indiana Fever and the Dallas Wings averaged 2.5 million viewers on ABC, making it the second most-watched regular-season game across ESPN’s networks.
The game featured two of the league’s biggest stars: Caitlin Clark of the Fever and Paige Bueckers of the Wings. The high-octane action throughout resulted in a 107-104 Dallas victory.
A Fever game early last season drew an average 2.7 million viewers on ABC, when they played the Chicago Sky and Angel Reese.
