The IHSAA softball postseason is right around the corner, and the path to the state finals has been officially revealed.
The IHSAA announced the softball sectional tournament pairings during the annual blind draw pairings show on Sunday, May 3. Sectionals will begin Memorial Day Monday, May 25, with games being played through Saturday, May 30. Regionals will be played on Tuesday, June 2, followed by semi-states on Saturday, June 6. The state tournament will culminate in four state championship games at Purdue University’s Bittinger Stadium on Friday, June 12, and Saturday, June 13.
Yorktown was the lone sectional champion from East Central Indiana last season. The Tigers claimed their fourth straight sectional title before losing to Western in the regional round. Time will tell if Yorktown can go for five in a row and if anyone else will join them in June softball.
Until then, here’s a look at each softball sectional bracket involving East Central Indiana teams. Times and dates will be officially announced at a later time.
