The Indy-area high school football power rankings going into Week 3 of the season:
Class 6A
1. Brownsburg (2-0): The Bulldogs keep rolling with a 29-0 win over Cathedral. Brownsburg put up 437 yards of total offense, including a school-record 237 receiving yards for junior Branden Sharpe. Up next: vs. Franklin Central. Previous: 1.
2. Center Grove (2-0): Nolan Rees ran for 149 yards and two TDs on 26 carries as the Trojans ran for 319 yards total in a 35-24 win over Fort Wayne Carroll. Oscar Sloan was 16-for-19 passing for 186 yards. Up next: vs. Marion. Previous: 2.
3. Carmel (2-0): The Greyhounds passed another test with flying colors, running away from Westfield for a 34-10 victory. A key stat: Carmel outrushed Westfield 206 yards to 68. Up next is Centerville (Ohio) at home. Previous: 6.
4. Hamilton Southeastern (2-0): The Royals got the offense on track in a 31-7 win over North Central as Terry Walker III went 14-for-19 passing for 272 yards and one TD and the Royals ran for 206 yards. A big game this week at home vs. Avon in the Hoosier Crossroads Conference opener. Previous: 5.
5. Westfield (1-1): The Shamrocks were outmatched in the first half against Carmel, falling into a 20-point hole, then rallied before falling 34-10. Westfield was held to just 76 rushing yards. This week’s game at Zionsville could be interesting. Previous: 3.
6. Avon (2-0): The Orioles kept the good vibes rolling with a 35-14 win over Ben Davis, averaging 6.7 yards per carry for 268 yards on the ground. Andre Warfield had 92 yards and a TD on 19 carries. A major challenge this week in the HCC opener at HSE, a team Avon has lost to five consecutive times. Previous: 8.
7. Fishers (1-1): The Tigers pulled off one of the head-turning victories of the week, defeating Lawrence North 31-28 on a field goal in the final seconds after Emmanuel Cowherd set it up with an interception. Gage Sturgill was 16-for-26 for 246 yards and a TD. Up next: at Noblesville. Previous: NR.
8. Lawrence North (1-1): The Wildcats fell behind, rallied, then lost 31-28 to Fishers in the final seconds on Friday. Monshun Sales caught nine passes for 103 yards and one TD. Interesting game this week vs. East Central at home. Previous: 4.
9. Warren Central (1-1): The Warriors got a challenge from Warsaw were able to pull out a 28-14 victory as Keyon Thomas ran for 172 yards and three TDs on 22 carries. Up next: vs. North Central. Previous: 7.
10. Franklin Central (2-0): The Flashes defeated Roncalli 22-15 as Connor Moreland went 17-for-23 passing for 198 yards and three TDs. Markell Bailey caught two of those TD passes. Up next is a trip to Brownsburg. Previous: NR.

Class 5A
1. New Palestine (2-0): Garrett Ranes had a big game with 13 tackles, including two for a loss, with one interception in a 28-6 win over Decatur Central. The Dragons defense forced three turnovers. Up next: vs. Yorktown. Previous: 1.
2. Cathedral (1-1): The Irish were limited to 83 rushing yards in a 29-0 loss at Brownsburg. It does not get much easier this week vs. Cincinnati St. Xavier at UIndy. Previous: 2.
3. Plainfield (2-0): The Quakers got a massive game from Luke Starnes, who rushed for 268 yards and four TDs on 37 carries in a 34-27 win over Harrison (West Lafayette). Next up is a game at Mooresville. Previous: 3.

Class 4A
1. Bishop Chatard (2-0): The Trojans rolled to a 49-7 win at Hanover Central. The challenge gets much tougher this week vs. Roncalli. Chatard beat the Royals 9-3 and 28-24 last season, the latter game in the sectional championship. Previous: 1.
2. Roncalli (1-1): The Royals lost 22-15 to Franklin Central but did run for 292 yards. Zach Dozier had 135 yards on 27 carries and Collin Ash went for 125 yards on 10 carries. Up next: at Chatard. Previous: 2.
3. Pendleton Heights (2-0): The Arabians jumped in the power poll last week and made us look smart with a 34-0 win over Guerin Catholic. Joel Weaver ran for 127 yards and one TD on 20 carries and Pendleton Heights rushed for 272 yards overall. Previous: 3.

Class 3A
1. Cascade (2-0): The Cadets posted an impressive 41-25 win over Danville, running for 236 yards and five TDs. Up next is a trip to North Putnam. Previous: 1.
2. Tri-West (2-0): The Bruins defeated Brebeuf Jesuit 47-29 as Jack Sorgi was 19-for-28 passing for 332 yards and four TDs. Carter Cummings caught eight passes for 137 yards and two TDs. Up next: vs. Triton Central. Previous: 2.
3. Indian Creek (2-0): The Braves defeated Greenwood 29-10 as Evan Clark was 7-for-13 passing for 118 yards and three TDs and ran for 52 yards on seven carries. Up next is Covenant Christian. Previous: 3.
Dropped out: Guerin Catholic (3)
Class 2A/A
1. Lutheran (2-0): The Saints defeated New Albany 17-0 to stay unbeaten. Up next is a trip to Western, which is 1-1. Previous: 1.
2. Lapel (2-0): The Bulldogs cruised to a 49-2 win over Frankton as Devin Craig went 15-for-20 passing for 200 yards and four TDs. Up next: vs. Shenandoah. Previous: 2.
3. Triton Central (2-0): The Tigers defeated Hamilton Heights 28-13 behind Matthew Wilkins’ 13-for-21 passing for 218 yards and two TDs. Up next: at Tri-West. Previous: 3.
