LAFAYETTE, IN — The Greater Lafayette Family Shelter is inviting the community to unwrap the spirit of the season a little early this year with its first Christmas in July Giving Week, Friday, July 25 through Friday, Aug. 1.
This weeklong online fundraising campaign aims to raise critical money needed to support the operating costs of the shelter, ensuring that families in crisis have access to safe shelter, warm meals, and essential support services year-round.
“Operating a family shelter takes consistent resources,” Steven Flowers, executive director of the Greater Lafayette Family Shelter, said in a news release. “We’re asking our community to rally together in the middle of the year — when donations are typically down — to help us keep our doors open and our lights on for those who need us most.”
