Garth Brooks will kick off his arena tour in Indianapolis

A country icon is hitting the road again – and he’s kicking off the comeback in Indianapolis.

Legendary country star Garth Brooks announced his return to arenas with back-to-back nights at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Aug. 21 and 22. Brooks’ Blame it All on My Roots Tour will serve as the basis for a new live album and revive the drum pod, a metal cage for his drummer that became a hallmark of his arena shows.

Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. July 17 at Ticketmaster.com. All tickets will be priced at $154 regardless of section. So far, the Indianapolis dates are the only ones that Brooks has announced for the tour.

“Going back into the arenas is about putting the stadium show in a box,” Brooks is quoted in a news release announcing the tour. “The excitement gets multiplied by the intimacy. Every seat is a great seat. This is personal.”

Brooks, one of the highest-selling artists ever and a titan with 19 No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs, is known for hits like “The Dance” and “Friends in Low Places.” He’s broken attendance records at venues like New York’s Central Park, where he drew an estimated 1 million people in 1997, and London’s Hyde Park, where 70,000 fans showed up last month.

Brooks returns to Gainbridge almost 10 years after a five-show, four-night stop at the arena in 2017.
