Freshmen stars and history makers: Vote for girls soccer Player of the Year

The 2025 IHSAA girls soccer season featured electrifying stars who consistently impacted their teams throughout the year. With the season complete, IndyStar is highlighting the top soccer players in Indiana with the Player of the Year fan poll.

Note: This recognition is strictly fan based and is separate from IndyStar Player of the Year and the Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year.

Iris Jones, Avon 

The freshman goalie collected 151 saves and had a 1.7 goals against average this season. Jones’ shot-stopping prowess helped Avon capture a 9-9-1 record. Thanks to Jones, the Orioles secured a sectional championship in 2025. 

Lauryn Dolvin, Heritage Christian 

The senior forward averaged 1.7 goals per game, scoring 34 total on the season. Dolvin added seven assists in 2025. Her elite goal scoring and playmaking propelled Heritage Christian to its second state championship in five seasons.

Saige Usher, Cathedral

The freshman striker started all 19 games she played this season. Despite an arduous schedule, Usher posted 14 goals and seven assists in her first year. The all-around star led Cathedral to a 14-3-2 record in 2025.

Lyla Jacobs, Mooresville 

The senior forward recorded 30 goals in her final varsity season. Jacobs’ six assists were the second most on Mooresville. Jacobs led the Pioneers to an 8-8-2 record. 

Adalyn Cameron, Carmel

Adalyn Cameron found the back of the net 40 times in 2025. The methodical senior forward led the Greyhounds to the state championship and averaged nearly two goals per game en route to the title game. Cameron also tallied nine assists en route to guiding Carmel to a 19-3-1 record.

Kari Radford, Lawrence North

Radford only needed two goals this season to become Lawrence North’s all-time leading goal scorer. She finished with 25. The senior forward guided the Wildcats to a 14-4-1 record this year. 

Amelia Romeril, Lawrence Central

Romeril’s 2.1 assists per game were the highest across the state this season. The junior midfielder finished with 17 assists on the year.

Sloane May, Hamilton Southeastern

The Indiana Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year award winner led HSE to its first state title in school history. The multifaceted forward finished her senior year with 15 goals and 17 assists. Behind May, the Royals didn’t lose a game in 2025.

Mia Marlin, Center Grove

Center Grove finished the 2025 campaign with a sectional title and a 19-3 record thanks to the junior forward’s 19 goals and eight assists on the year. Marlin led the Trojans in points with 46 on the year.

Sydney Shattuck, Park Tudor

The junior forward led Park Tudor to its second state title game in three seasons in 2025. She was stellar on her way there, finishing the season with 25 goals and nine assists on 1335 minutes of play.
