LAFAYETTE, IN — Two women were arrested late last week on suspicion of being involved in the July 12 brawl on the bridge between Lafayette and West Lafayette, bringing the total number of arrests to four.
The fight was recorded by a woman in the group of assailants, and the video was posted on social media. The Journal & Courier has obtained copies of the video but is not sharing it because it does not have permission to republish the videos.
The videos show a group of black men and women assaulting a 22-year-old white man, who appears to be drunk, on the Lafayette-side of the John T. Myer Pedestrian Bridge about 4:50 a.m. July 12.
On July 16, Lafayette police issued a citation to Jasmine Dallas, 28, 3000 block of Phipps Court in Lafayette, to appear on suspicion of battery. Her summons does not yet appear on public court records.
On Saturday, July 18, Lafayette police arrested Angela Deberry, 25, 2550 Yeager Road, West Lafayette, on suspicion of battery, police said. She remains jailed Tuesday in lieu of a $50,000 surety bond and a $5,000 cash bond. Prosecutors have until Thursday afternoon to file formal charges.
On July 16, police arrested Lesslare Edward Porter, 33, of the 500 block of Gordan Court in Lafayette, at his residence. Prosecutors have until Wednesday afternoon to file formal charges. Meanwhile, he remained incarcerated Tuesday afternoon in lieu of a $100,000 surety bond and a $10,000 cash bond.
On July 16, police also arrested Zachary James Tyner, 58, of the 1400 block of Main Street in Lafayette.

The man who was attacked reported seven to 10 men assaulted him. The videos show that women also were involved in throwing punches.
The alleged victim is knocked to the ground and the group continues to punch him, according to the video. When the alleged victim is prone on the ground men in the group kick him in his body and his head and stomp on his head, according to the video.
The alleged victim so far has declined to be interviewed.
The man lost consciousness during the attack and suffered a severe concussion from the attack and was unable to read because of the injuries he suffered, according to prosecutors. He also had blurred vision and extreme head pain after the attack.
The man reported the group also stole his cellphone, according to prosecutors.
