Former Notre Dame soccer star signs massive extension with Cowboys

Brandon Aubrey had a unique route to the NFL, after staring on the soccer field for Notre Dame, fizzling out in Major League Soccer, then signing with Dallas Cowboys as a free agent after learning to become a place kicker.

The move paid off literally massively for him, as the Cowboys signed the 31-year old to a four-year extension that will make him the highest paid kicker in NFL history according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. During his career, he’s made 88.2% of his field goals, with a long of 65-yards.

Aubrey has made the Pro Bowl three times, was a first-team All-Pro in 2023, and made the second-team in 2024 and 2025. Kickers have long careers in the NFL, and you can expect that he’ll get paid handsomely again when this deal expires.

Congratulation to Brandon on his historic signing with the Dallas Cowboys.
