A motorcyclist died Monday morning on Interstate 65 after the rider lost control, traveled into the median and struck the cable barrier, police said.
Just after 11 a.m., Indiana State Police troopers responded to the crash near the 164-mile marker, police said in a news release Monday.The motorcycle was traveling northbound on I-65 in Tippecanoe County when, for a reason still under investigation, the rider lost control and struck the cable barrier. Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene, the rider was pronounced dead.The rider’s identity will be released by the Tippecanoe County coroner’s office pending positive identification and notification of next of kin.Troopers were also assisted at the scene by the Sheffield Fire Department and Tippecanoe County EMS.
