Notre Dame will have a chance to win its third men’s lacrosse championship in the last four years, as it will take on the No. 1 seeded Princeton Tigers later today.
The Irish entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 2 seed and got to the finals by routing Jacksonville 18-5 after a first round bye, and then beating Johns Hopkins 15-9. Finally, Notre Dame used a dominant fourth quarter to defeat the upset minded Syracuse Orange 15-7.
Princeton also had a first-round bye before beating Marist 17-8. The Tigers then beat Penn State 10-8 and Duke 14-7 to make it to the title game. It should be quite the battle for the NCAA Championship, as the top two seeds have made the title game.
