The U.S News and World Report has released their ranking of high schools at both the state and national level, and only one Indiana school ranked at the top in multiple categories.
The Signature School, a charter school in Evansville, was ranked the top high school in the state, the top charter school in the country and the second best high school in the country.
“The 2026-2027 Best High Schools national rankings identify top public schools based on six key performance indicators, including student achievement on state-required assessments, strong graduation rates and college readiness measures,” the press release said of the ranking’s methodology. “Schools are evaluated on how effectively they serve all students, including underserved populations, with college readiness specifically measured through student participation and performance on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams.”
Here’s how some of Indiana’s high schools ranked.
