MUNCIE, IN — A Delaware County man was arrested on Saturday, Aug. 15, after investigators with the Muncie-Delaware County Drug Task Force reported finding fentanyl and heroin in his vehicle.
Gregory Wayne Mills, 42, of rural Selma, was being held in the Delaware County Jail under a $50,000 bond on suspicion of dealing in a narcotic drug.
According to task force investigators, information was received that Mills “was returning from Ohio with narcotics.”
A traffic stop was conducted about 1 a.m. on U.S. 35 in the area of Delaware County Road 700 East. An officer said Mills was stopped after he ran a stop sign.
Mills — who was the target of a warrant issued in a Randolph County court — was taken into custody, and an investigator reported finding about 44 grams of fentanyl and 2.5 grams of heroin in his Chevrolet Equinox.
Also found was a “notebook that contained a drug ledger,” with “several different names and the prices that they owed,” an affidavit said.
Mills reportedly acknowledged “the drugs were his and that he had purchased them in Ohio for $600,” the court document said.
Delaware County Prosecutor Eric Hoffman’s office will determine whether formal charges will be filed.
At the time of his latest arrest, Mills already faced a total of five charges — driving while suspended, possession of meth, possession of paraphernalia, residential entry and theft — in cases pending in Delaware and Randolph counties.
According to court records, he has been convicted of crimes including battery, criminal confinement, domestic battery, driving while suspended, possession of a narcotic drug and residential entry.
