Marching bands from across the country will travel to Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis this week to close out the fall season at the Indiana State School Music Association state finals.
Monroe County schools have a proud history of contributing winners to the ISSMA competition — last year, Edgewood High’s Marching Mustangs won first place the Class C finals for the third year in a row. In 2023, Bloomington North placed sixth in the Class B finals.
Both Edgewood High and Bloomington North are headed back to the finals this year. Here’s what to know about when they’ll take the field.
When and where are the ISSMA State Finals?
The state finals are on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. Opening performances begin at 9:25 a.m., with Class C beginning performances at 10 a.m. Gates open at 9 a.m.
What local Bloomington, Monroe County schools are performing in the finals?
Bloomington North is participating in the Class B division of the finals, while Edgewood High is participating in the Class C division. Bands are divided by school enrollment size, with the biggest schools in Class A and the smallest in Class D.
When are Bloomington North and Edgewood High performing in the ISSMA finals?
Edgewood will take the field at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Bloomington North will perform at 3:35 p.m.

Where do I get tickets to the ISSMA Marching Band State Finals?
State final tickets can be purchased online through Ticketmaster or in person at the Lucas Oil Stadium Ticket Office in advance or on the day of the event.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for students and children.
