Dowagiac man hospitalized after hitting cow that had wandered onto Calvin Center Road

A 67-year-old Dowagiac man was hospitalized after his car hit a cow that had made its way onto the road.

Dale Killarney was the only occupant of his vehicle about 3:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, driving south on Calvin Center Road, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department. The collision happened in the 70400 block of Calvin Center Road.

Killarney was unable to exit the vehicle under his own power, according to police. Killarney went by ambulance to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of his injuries..
