Coroner releases names of two people found dead in Warrick County

The Warrick County Coroner’s office has released the names of the two people found dead in a Newburgh home on Monday.

According to a Tuesday night news release, the two were identified as Aileen Wells and David Wells. The coroner’s office didn’t release their causes of death. Autopsies were scheduled for Wednesday.

According to public records, the two got married in 1985.

Sheriff’s deputies discovered them deceased Monday evening inside their home on Hannah Court, in the area of Oak Grove Road. In a statement to the Courier & Press, Warrick County Sheriff Mike Wilder said the case was potentially a “double suicide or murder-suicide.”

“However, it is important to note that our assessment may evolve as we gather additional information through the investigation,” he said.

Authorities aren’t seeking any suspects in the deaths, he added.

As of now, the coroner’s office isn’t releasing details in the case. Once the autopsies are complete, coroner Alissa Salee-Enright wrote in Tuesday night’s news release, “additional information will be released as appropriate.”

“The Warrick County Coroner’s Office extends its condolences to the family and loved ones affected during this difficult time and asks that their privacy be respected,” she wrote.
